Looking through some photos I found this one of last year's Thanksgiving dinner in Germany. The boys had just returned from Iraq and were ready for a yummy home cooked Thanksgiving meal. Straight off the plane from the USA to my kitchen in Germany, Mom Merkle and I made the best of a not so good situation. We managed to cook up a feast for the hungry soldiers at the table!!! My friend Jenn peeled the potatoes for us at midnight the evening before (when I remembered that I hadn't done it yet!) and cooked the rolls in her oven downstairs. I would say we pulled off the unthinkable in that little German kitchen with hardly any bakeware to support our mission!!!! :-)
